Call for Proposals: Teaching and Learning Communities of Practice (CoP)

Call for proposals for Communities of Practice (CoP) is now open for faculty and teaching staff interested in forming a CoP to contribute to a common initiative on teaching and learning (T&L) practices.

Communities of practice (CoP) are groups of people who share a concern or a passion for what they do and learn how to do it better as they interact regularly (Etienne and Wenger, 2015). CoP encourage members to collaborate ideas and thoughts; generate new knowledge and improve T&L practices.

HKUST’s CoP fund aims at supporting faculty and professionals from across the University to establish networks and to collaborate actively to pursue good research-based T&L practices. Themes of the CoP that align with the following HKUST teaching and learning initiatives are strongly encouraged:

  • Experiential learning in academic courses;
  • Blended learning / flipped classroom;
  • Entrepreneurship education;
  • Sustainability education;
  • Design thinking approach in academic courses; and
  • System thinking approach in academic courses.
