Format: Seminar

Systematic training and explicit instruction on teamwork skills to students, as well as the development of teamwork across an entire curriculum were found to be effective in a recently-completed teaching development project. Two key lessons learned from the project were (i) an explicit focus on constructive conflict resolution would be beneficial for HKUST students; and (ii) faculty development on teamwork knowledge and facilitation skills is important. These findings formed the basis of another teaching development project which emphasizes the promotion of peer learning in a collaborative problem solving environment.

In this talk participants found out the details of these two projects, in particular the pedagogies and assessment approaches used in promoting teamwork skills.
