Optimizing and Extending International Student Exchange Experience: From Research to Practice

Date:
Tuesday, 13 March, 2012 - 12:30 to 14:00

Presenter : Prof Jane Jackson, Applied Linguistics, the Chinese University of Hong Kong

Format: Seminar

In this workshop, Prof Jane Jackson shared her experience in developing research-driven, theory-based curricula to enhance and extend the ‘whole person development’ of student sojourners (e.g., international exchange students; participants in short-term, faculty-led sojourns). Through guided critical reflection and experiential learning, students develop the means to make sense of international/second-language experience and take steps towards intercultural/global citizenship.
