In this series of seminars, Prof Qiang Yang (author of the book “Crafting Your Research Future: A Guide to Successful Master's and Ph.D. Degrees in Science & Engineering”) will share and discuss some essential skills to be a successful young researcher. In specific, Prof Yang will discuss how to explore and identify good ideas for research, how to conduct solid research to verify such good ideas and how to formulate the ideas into high-quality articles to be published in journals and conferences. Do not miss this golden opportunity to learn first-hand from a distinguished scientist in a step-by step manner with concrete examples.

About the Speaker:
Prof Qiang YANG is a Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering and the Director of the Noah's Ark Research Lab of Huawei. His research interests include Artificial Intelligence and Data Mining, with specialization in transfer learning and sensor-based activity recognition. He is an IEEE Fellow, IAPR Fellow, AAAS Fellow, and an ACM Distinguished Scientist.
