In this seminar, an overview of the enhancements in Mathematica 10 and some good practices for using Mathematica has be introduced by the presenter. The participants also explored different ways that Mathematica can help with your day-to-day workflow.
The seminar has covered the following topics:
- Introduction to Mathematica: Getting started, Manipulate, Teaching Resources, Demonstrations project, Accessing Wolfram|Alpha curated data, Documentation center.
- Symbolic Computation: Computation with symbolic expressions, including polynomial operations, solving equations and functions from calculus.
- Numerical Computation: Fitting data, interpolation, integration, solving equations, differential equations, linear systems, and working with large arrays.
- Visualization and Graphics: Two- and three-dimensional plotting, plotting data, and creating dynamic and interactive graphics
- Special areas of interest: Engineering, Enhanced image processing, visualizations, Statistics, Control Theory, Wavelets and CUDA support
About the Speaker:
Farid Pasha joined Wolfram Research in 2011 as a member of the International Business Development group, where he works with customers in Southeast Asian countries and the South Africa and Pakistan regions. Prior to joining Wolfram Research, he worked for ten years in the oil and gas industry. Farid provides Mathematica trainings and seminars at universities, community colleges, and high schools in his region. He is experienced in working with educators on how to integrate Mathematica into their courses.
